Momentum Venture Associates builds successful operating companies around exceptional people and breakthrough innovations. Since 1999, our principals have worked with more than twenty startup ventures, sometimes becoming involved before a company is formally organized.
We are often enlisted by Technology Transfer organizations at universities and research laboratories to help assess whether an invention is well suited to commercialization via creating a company around it, or whether licensing of the intellectual property is the better option. If the decision is made to create and build a company around the invention, our “virtual management team” model organizes and propels the entity rapidly and economically into operation.
Investors engage us to “jump-start” early stage companies that are struggling to gain operational or marketplace traction. As veterans of operational turnarounds in both large companies and nascent ventures, we are experienced in breaking through internal bottlenecks and reorienting business models and market development strategies and tactics.
The “Virtual Management Team” Model
We utilize our broad network of specialized professionals to perform “as needed” tasks, keeping client overhead at a minimum. Our role is to both apply our own substantial C-level operating experience, and to orchestrate the selective use of external resources for necessary but not “core competency” needs.
